Musician, Arts Administrator,
Coach, Teacher
The wonderful schools where I teach.

The University of Toronto Faculty of Music
I teach trombone, bass trombone and chamber music at U of T.

I earned my DMA at U of T working in the groundbreaking Music and Health Science Research Collaboratory (MaHRC).

Knowing how we acquire and execute physical and mental performance skills can give the edge when it comes to being a great performer and I am continually striving to pass on these "open secrets" when I coach students and adults.
The Glenn Gould School
is Canada's premiere post secondary conservatory where I teach Performance Awareness (physical and mental skills for a long and healthy career) and Brass Music Literature.

My Academic Work
has been focused on bringing performance related knowledge from the fields of motor learning, kinesiology, and psychology into the world of music performance.

I have studied how we acquire musical motor skills and how we execute them under pressure. The roles of posture, attention, and cognitive control are of particular interest to me and have completely revolutionized the ways I teach and I play music.

I continue to work with MaRHC bringing ongoing Motor Research together with Performance Skills.
